Chairman's Notices ~ 7th. Feb
Future concert dates were announced - see Diary opposite.
Well done to Val Cole for raising a substantial amount from the sale of 'unwanted xmas gifts'.
Unfortunately, it has not been possible to arrange a concert with Todd's Mass in Blue because of logistical and cost implications. However, there is still a possibility of having a "musical event" in the summer.
The newly refurbished Joseph Wright Gallery at Derby Museum is opening on 25th Feb. Celebrating this, there's a Free Concert at Derby Cathedral on Sunday, 26th. Feb. 2.30-4.30pm. Members of DCU would be most welcome to join the Wright Festival Choir. For more details, please refer to the mailshot from John dated 11th. Jan.
CDs of the Mass in Blue concert are still available - £10 ea. See David Cole.
Phil Butcher has created a literary quiz to raise money for DCU - only £1. Please do buy one or more.

Ladies' Uniform
The current uniform will stand for at least the Spring concert.

This is the regulation choir blouse, long black skirt, black tights and black shoes. Earings may be worn but must be very plain and nothing that will catch the light.

The committee will be working through the spring term to produce a shortlist for a replacement uniform.
For several years a Blouse Committee has been responsible for ladies’ concert dress. We are getting to the point where we need to select new concert dress, which means a replacement for the cherry coloured blouses, many of which have worn out. With this task in mind, it was felt that the group had got too large for manageable discussions to take place.

The DCU Committee has approved a constitution for a re-formed Ladies’ Concert Dress Committee which will be responsible for the selection and maintenance of affordable and durable ladies' concert dress in keeping with the image, musical style and concert setting of the choir. It consists of 5 members, up to 2 being appointed by the choir Committee (Viv Richard and Liz Fairfield) and 3 elected by lady members of the choir. See the Who's Who for the list of members on the sub-committee.

See the constitution for the Ladies’ Concert Dress Committee.
