Season No. 146 ~ 2011/12
Great music by Todd, Rutter, Handel, Vivaldi & Mozart

This season as always we aim to bring variety, interest and musical excitement to our programmes with compositions ranging from the 18th to 21st Centuries and musical styles ranging from Baroque to Jazz.

The season started with some new music in a new venue. We performed Will Todd's sensational Mass in Blue alongside John Rutter's lively Feel the Spirit at Landau Forte College.

At Christmas, we were back at Derby Cathedral and performed once again the best known and best loved of all oratorios, Handel's Messiah.

In April also at Derby Cathedral, we conclude our season with Mozart's magnificent Mass in C Minor (The Great) and Vivaldi's lesser known, but characteristically masterly Magnificat. These two choral offerings are preceded by Mendelssohn's popular and lyrical Hebrides Overture.
